Profile
Godfrey Harris has been a public policy consultant based in Los Angeles,
California, since 1968. He began consulting after serving as a university
lecturer at UCLA and Rutgers. Harris was a U.S. Army intelligence officer at Ft. Hancock,
N.J., a U.S. foreign service officer with the Department of State serving in
Washington, Bonn, and London; an organizational specialist in President Lyndon
Johnson’s Executive Office, and a program manager for an international
financial company in Geneva. As President of Harris/Ragan Management Group, Harris has focused the firm’s activities on projects that offer
alternative solutions to matters of community concern. In fulfilling that role,
he has specialized in political and economic analysis; marketing public and
private sector services through word of mouth advertising; developing new
environmental and commercial products; creating commemorative events; and
promoting international tourism to various destinations.
Topics
- Person-to-person advertising: Godfrey has written 7 books on
the topic of word of mouth advertising and has captivated his audiences from
all over the world with his brilliant and stimulating performances. Every one
knows its power, but few know how to generate it.
- Lose weight without dieting: Harris discusses some of the latest
diet fads and why they are less likely to work over the long haul than the
strategy for eating he developed with a medical doctor. His talk is filled
with practical ways to develop new habits, new techniques, and a new outlook
for food intake that improves health while recognizing the difficulties of
counting calories or calculating carbohydrate consumption.
